exhaust question

I was informed by a friend that an X pipe helps each side of the engine pull along the other side's exhaust pulses and adds even more scavenging on top of what longtubes offer, so my question is this, I have longtubes with about 12" of pipe after the collector then nothing, if I added a 3" x-pipe system with no mufflers or cats, would the performance vary any at all, or increase from increased scavenging or decrease from the extra air needing to be pushed through the pipes or what?

I think it is worth putting on. It will be quieter-maybe give you another week before "THE MAN" shuts you down. Torque will be increased making the car faster and more fun to drive. My guess is 5-20 ft lbs from 2000-6000. It will help after you cave in to "THE MAN" and put on a couple of bullet mufflers. Go for it!
