distributor question for an opti swap

I just read stockLT1's thread about a distributor swap for his lt1. I assume he's using the opti unit to send the hi-res/low-res dual-pulse signal to the ecm. I read that late-model chevy trucks with 350's (97-99 i believe) have hei distributors that send hi-res/low-res signals as opposed to the standard single-pulse hei's used up until this point. Can anyone confirm this, as far as compatibility with the lt1 ecm, programming language, etc? I will need to know this for certain before I pick one up and I thought about that when I was reading his thread. Thanks in advance for any help you guys might be able to offer.

Re: distributor question for an opti swap

I ask that question a few times and the word is it does not 96 and up rely of the Crank sensor for part of the signal. That distributor only came in 96- vehicals to my under standing
