Distributor part 2 (wiring)

I finished everything up today. I hooked up the wiring according to how MSD instructed. When I look at it there is no way for the F.A.S.T to referance RPM. This is how I have it wired right now. Opti harness nothing hooked to it. EST wire not connected. Two wires from the distrubutor to the MSD box. Coil wires, power, etc to the MSD. I tried cranking it for the hell of it and I knew there would be no spark or the fast would read no RPM. What am I missing?

Oh yeah I have the crank referance at 45 degrees, and the balancer at 45 as well.

Fill me in
Thanks!

Which MSD box are you running? I have the 7 AL3 And have hooked the the points wire from the fast harness to the points hookup on the MSD box. This worked for me.

White points wire from MSD box, goes to FAST ecu X3 is the pin location on the FAST box.

Did you send the FAST box back to FAST to get it converted to inductive pick up? Cause if you bought the FAST box for your car to run the OPTI spark then the FAST ecu has to be sent back and converted.

Called up mac and got the right wiring instructions. For those that might do this the propar pins are, distibutor wires to A3 and B3. The signal wire from the computer telling the msd to spark is X3.

I got the car to run yesterday, but it only runs for 5 seconds then kills. Since the factory computer doesnt see any signals from the opti its shuting off my fuel pump, and possibly other 12volt switches. I pretty sure my tach will not work, but I hope the speedo still does...

I started to fool around with the wiring today to see if I could find out why the car dies 5 seconds after I start it. I put a constant 12v to the "key on" spot on the msd box. The car fires but then dies again. I then try by passing my fuel pump reley, and now the car will not spark and the RPM on the fast doesnt go past 125rpm. I know its higher then that because im cranking 35psi of oil pressure, which is probably about 600rpm... Not sure what happend. Checked all wires and everything is tight. What would cause the rpm to be inaccurate all of a sudden

Why not hook the fuel pump wire up to the FAST system and let FAST control it?

I dunno if you can do that, but, you can with Accel..

Did you have any problems with the car dieing 5 seconds after you started it? Did you re-wire anything where power might get cut to the computer?

Well you need to wire your fuel pump so it runs when the ignition is on.
If you locate the fuel pump relay which is under the driverside kick panel I think its the green wire you cut that and run it to 12v switch so it runs when the ignition is on and it doesn't stop after 5 seconds.

You might want to check your battery voltage, if the voltage is below 12 v then the Fast system doesn some funky stuff.

So the fuel pump is the only problems you guys had with MAC's harness? Otherwise everything else worked just fine?

I still cant get this thing to spark again

did you get the FAST "hardware" changed from Opti to inductive pickup?
