Post chevy 383 stroker - please help

i started my 383 today for the first time and noticed a lot of sound coming from under the valve covers.. my rocker arms are all jacked up i adjusted them wrong. can someone please tell me how you adjust rocker arms.. i have the edelbrock performer plus cam and lifters kit with scorpion billet roller rockers. thank you so much i dont want to mess up my engine.. this is the first one i have built and i have so much money into it and the only experience i have building engines is what im doing on this one right now to learn.

Do one cylinder at a time.

Facing the front of the engine, turn it over clockwise, or bump it with the starter.

When the exhaust valve on a cylinder starts to open, adjust the intake valve on that same cylinder. Find zero lash and add 1/4 turn preload.

When the intake valve is closing, adjust the exhaust valve on that same cylinder.
