Cats Glowing Red...HELP!
I really hope someone can help. I have recently rebulit my LT1 engine into a 383 stroker. To give you a brief summary, 11.1 compression fully ported factory heads, 52mm throttle body, ported intake, SLP 1 3/4 headders, stock cats, and a 3in borla exhaust. My valve train is all Comp Cams. New everything. I chose the Comp cam 07-306. It has the 230 244 duration @ .050 with a lobe sep. of 112. Anyone familiar with this set up? I also had my computer reprogramed by a company called Fast Chip. The engine idles GREAT and souds really nice. However, once in closed loop, both cats glow red hot. Everything is functioning properly. All 4 O2 sensers are responding great, my fuel trims are at zero. It couldnd't be more perfect. I have played with the fuel pressure and it still glows red. I should mention that I am usuing 30 lb. Accel injectors which were progammed in my compture set up as well. Is the cam that I have chosen too big? Can this system work with factory cats? Are my injectors too big? The guys at Fast chip say no because they have dealt with this set up before and never herd of my problem. Has anyone ever dealt with this before? A response would be greatly appreciated.
