Carb to cowl clearances....DO NOT want to butcher my car..HELP!!

Ok guys, got a big nasty LT1 with a .700 solid roller, near 13:1, lotsa juice etc. etc. But that's beside the point.

Getting ready to drop her in, but don't wanna butcher the cowl any more than I have to. Anyone have a clean/neat way of doing this or way of maximizing clearance so it doesn't have to be sheared all the way off??? (also need this car inspected, so I gotta have functioning wipers!)

I have the GMPP LT1 intake and a Holley DP.

Open to ANY suggestions!

Please post pics or links if you have them.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!!

not what you wanted but....you have room to Box in a section for your carb and leave room for the wipers, I used 16 ga. steal.

You could smooth it out etc and really do a pretty slick job.....but I like how the welds look.

BTW that gmpp intake with a carb will probly fit under the cowl. Or just put the carb on sideways

damn man, you went vigilante on yours! lol Thanks for the pics. I've talked to a few guys and done a little research and I think I can get away with cutting out a 6"x3" slot in the cowl just enough to clear the rear bowl without sacrificing my windsheild wipers. Anyone else done this?

Who makes a single plane intake for LT1 heads? Anyone do it yet? If I could get a single plane, I would turn the carb sideways!

Is the degree/angle on the heads of a regular SBC the same as an LT1?

The differance is the bolt hole angle....not a big deal, any machine shop can fix it right up for you. Some people grind the holes out. It works...just looks like crap
