can't start car

can't start car
some one please help me the only way I can start the car is if I just tap the positive termianal of the battery I got a new starter and battery it seems to be the posative battery cable I have electrical power but it won't start when I attach the cable to the battery. please guys I have spent two days on this and 300 dollars
