I'm in a similar position but for different reasons. I've got a less than optimum quench problem. What about pulling the wire and running a copper gasket, (I was thinking of a Flatout Rubber Coated Copper), leaving the ring groove in. maybe running a bead of silicone in the groove. This would allow me to run the thinner gasket that I need, (.021) without the risk of the wire cutting through the gasket. I'm thinking about giving Flatout a call next week and seeing what they think of my latest "hare brained" scheme.

SCE also has their ICS copper gaskets in 4.060" bore.
