Re: Best heads for a 421 turbo motor

Get SB-2's, little chiefs or GM symmetrical ports. We have a twin turbo 18* headed 400 that we drag race. Because of the exhaust valves next to each other in the center ports it eats the head gaskets up every 12 runs. It makes great power but after 3 runs it loses some power and after 12 were putting gaskets on it.
If you build a engine with these heads and a couple of turbos or even 1 101mm you will be able to have 1500 to the wheels and it will be streetable. here is one that was just on ebay that did not make reserve:

That looks like the engine from the BMR project car. Man, I wanted to see that thing run.

Really, where'd you see that? He used to have it on the website, but never updated in like a year or two now, and took down the link to it. I assumed nothing happened with it since he has those other two projects.

yeah, but there's no files newer than 2003 in there, safe to say there's none of a finished product, provided the car actually ran at one point.

Re: Best heads for a 421 turbo motor

Don't know if you guys are talking it up on the Little Chiefs seriously or not but I have been doing quite a bit of homework on them. Was seriously considering them for my next build until I talked to Dick Maskin at Dart. Come to find out, the LC's require their own block due to the valve/lifter locations. That means it's gonna need a lot of custom stuff to make it work and I already have a nice older dart block so..... no LC's for me.

Not going to say I have a choice between the two.... but there is a good thread about them here: http://speedtalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=858

Good info about the new Splayed Valve GM head.
