Ball Bearing

The ball bearing that goes in the block between the last main cap is it nessacerry to have that bearing in?

yes... can't recall why just now, but it's outlined in a book I have called "How to rebuild a LT1/LT4" (great book). I'll try to dig up the reason for ya later... but I belive it's an issue with oil flow.
