Backcut exhaust valves for more port velocity on exhaust
Backcut exhaust valves for more port velocity on exhaust
Can anyone explain to me what it means to backcut valves? I heard of someone doing this to exhaust valves to increase exhaust velocity flow on a turbocharged motor to help spool reponse. Has anyone seen this done before or understand how this process works?

Re: Backcut exhaust valves for more port velocity on exhaust
usually a 30 degree backcut valve angle after the 45 degree seat angle will increase Low Lift Flow on a FlowBench Test
when the Exhaust valve 1st opens while Cylinder Pressure Psi is still very high,
there is better Low-Lift Flow...higher Exhaust port velocity sooner
if the Exhaust Port flows more , yet its the same size, theres more Port velocity sooner in the Lift Curve / Engine Cycle
