? about LT1 block vs. old SBC block

What would be required if I wanted to use an LT1 block as a traditional SBC?

By that I mean... using SBC heads such as vortec's,carb intake and old DEI distributor.

I have a spare LT1 short block. I could sell it / trade it for a SBC or just use it. Ideas?

Thanks,

James

I doubt you could use anything other than gen II heads on it due to revese flow cooling and a whole bunch of other differences.

Ive read that heads can be modified to fit, but its really not worth the trouble.

Thanks for the help.

Next question though... Is the block that radically different regardless of the fast that it cools in reverse.

Say for instance.. I put a different water pump on and tried to flow it the traditional way.

It would be fine if Vortec head 96+ would fit the block.
