WOW, crappy track times
Today my dad and i took the car to tri state raceway in Earlville, IA. The car was running pritty good, not great but not bad. I was on street tires with the first car in the sig. I have a stock torque arm on the car and i had such bad wheel hop i broke the pipe that goes over the axle to the muffler. here are the times
reation .702
60ft 2.467
1/8 9.066
1/4 13.80 @ 104 mph
The reaction wasnt really that bad it was basically the car, i got off the throttle 4 times getting out of the hole. I also had to let off 50ft or so before the end of the track. My tranny cable was alittle kinked in the line and wouldnt let me shift. I fixed that after the pass along with the exhaust pipe. Once i get the torque arm and the slicks on i think the car will be deep in the 12's or high 11's. I am hopping for something like a 11.6x or so at 120 mph. I would be really happy with that run but i dont know if the car has the power yet. I will be putting some afr 195's or 205's on it pritty soon also. Anywas thats my ****ty track times.
BTW: i was staged next to a 18 year old (im 20) kid in a 5.0. Asked what i had done to my car and i said not much
he asked what i would run and i told him ive never ran it before. (which i havent) bottom line he thought he was going to smoke me. He had me out of the hole really good but i cought him by mid track and then i had to let off but i still beat him across the line he ran a 14.13 @ 96mph. LOL even though i didnt do crap i still beat the mustang

Which car was this now? The 89 IROC with just free mods? or was it the car with the built motor and it was just running kinda off? Either way, you'll get better with practice. A set of ET Streets on stock IROC rims would kick *** also.
With 4.11 gears, a good 2800 rpm stall, a set of ET Streets, and that engine...I would think 1.7 60 foots would be average at a decent track. Goodluck man!! 12's for sure!

Denny, its the car with the 386 stroker. I already have a set of et streets on some iroc rims. It looks pritty cool with them on
i didnt get to put the slicks on because we drove the car 3 hours to get to where my dad grew up and all his buddys wanted to go to the track. I didnt even think about running the car but my dad paid for a tech sheet and threw it at me once we where in the gates. I didnt actually want to run the car until we had the slicks and the torque arm on the car. Im prying for 11's but i think im going to be stuck in the 12's till i get some afr's. I have about 30 passes on a track with the old engines (stock 350, moded 355)in this same car but not with this one yet. I didnt expect the wheel hop to be so bad.

How many CFM are those heads capable of flowing? That is the major factor in determining how fast you are gonna run. I know that running stock heads that flow 195CFM intake side isn't gonna let me see much higher than 97-98 mph. at about 13.8 maybe if I can get traction.
My most recent experience at the track with the car in the sig I ran 2 14.4's one at 94 with the stock chip and one at 96 mph with a Corvette chip. I picked up 3 mph in the 1/4 from last year but a solid 5 mph in the 1/8. I am approaching 80 mph in the 1/8 while staying under 100 in the 1/4... go figure

Keep this in mind- the difference between 104 and 120 is something like 150 horsepower.
You can't gain that from slicks and a torque arm.
I say concentrate on your heads, cam and then suspension.
With a slick and suspension I would assume you could go 13.0's.
