Worth?

I have a 92 rs, that I rarely drive. It is SUPER reliable, with cold ac and everything works as it is supposed to. It is an awesome car, with a 5.0. How much do you think I could get for it? It is an auto with 155K miles on the car, HOWEVER if you didnt know better you think that it would only have 50K miles. No leaks, doesnt burn any oil ect. What do you think I could get for it. I know probably not much, it is just that I moved and the trans am and 67 camaro are the garage queens and I DO NOT like the 92 just sitting outside

Re: Worth?

2K if your lucky, nothing special about your car to make it worth much to anyone else.

Nothing special except for the fact it is all original and one of the nicest rs you could find. Most, at least around here, are trashed.

Re: Worth?

well then look up local vehicles and see what they're selling for....the car is only worth what someone will pay you, but I too was thinking 2-2300 for the vehicle, but i'm a cheap bastard. Although all those miles on the car are going to kill it's resale....what the motor/trans/rear end "might" make it to 200k maybe.

Re: Worth?

Yeah if ya look on ebay ect, they dont bring CRAP!! Autotrader around here they are WAY overpriced. I may put it in there for 3850 that would be cheaper then the other ones are. But they are hard to get anything for

Re: Worth?

depends on your area, I paid $13,500 for my 89 vert,
you could get a LT1 vert cheaper,

IMO RS isn't going to get as much as a Z28, simply cause of the motor,

I've seen RS's come 2 ways, fully loaded or bare bones stock,
a loaded 1 would be worth a bit more, but in the end its an RS and not as saught after as a more performance model,

face it people aren't buying 3rd gens cause of their relabilty and fuel economy

Re: Worth?

Just an FYI for ya..if you find the right buyer, its worth more than you think

I had a 92RS (quasar blue, 25th anniv. edition). V8, auto, nearly MINT with custom z28 spoiler in adition to the RS spoiler, no engine mods except K&N setup. I had 150k, it ran great and interior/exterior was awsome..sold for $5.2K

good luck man and just be patient..find someone who doesnt understand 'value' and not to rip them off, but to make them think its a 'great car/reliable for the money'...because a 'value' really isnt a set limit..value of something is different for everyone. could be worth 5k to you, and 1k to someone who buys 3rd gens. just dont settle for the first low-ball offer...know what its worth to you and find someone willing to pay around that..youll feel better. I ended up selling my 92RS for the 5.2k, purchased a 94z28 with a cracked head (then did 3.5k in engine work) and it worked out great

Re: Worth?

whats it worth to you? If somone isn't willing to pay that - I wouldnt be willing to sell it...then again i never see myself in a hurry to sell an F-body. I bought 2 formula 350's one for $500 and the other for $2,000 - and i see them sell around here in good condition for upwards of 15,000 or better.

Re: Worth?

This car is SO darn solid. HONESTLY I have never had any problems, sometimes I think I should keep it because I couldnt replace it with a more reliable one. It just runs so smooth! I drove it yesterday and realized again what a nice car it is! For some reason, it seems more solid then my t/a

Keep it. 92 rs look so damn good, it'd be a sweet daily driver, since you say its very reliable.

But 3850 obo sounds like a fair price, if you really want to get rid of it.

Re: Worth?

It seems like that car is only Worth something to you and NOT to anyone else in your area. Not too many high money offers coming your way for this soild piece of ...... I would guess????
