WOO, WOO!! Got antother Z28!

Hey everyone, I couldn't take it anymore, so I got another Camaro. This one is a 1986 Z28, with a TPI 305. Factory Posi rear end, factory 4 wheel disc brakes, power seat, power mirrors, windows, locks, and fog lights. 700R4 Tranny. Best of all, T-TOPS!! It has 92K on it, it's clean, but needs a new headliner soon, needs a new tranny mount, and I gotta turn the rotors at work maybe tomarrow if I can get the time. It also needs a new Y pipe. It's got some minor rust starting on the left rear fender, and some in the corners of the fenders, paint blistering some. Straight body, nose is fading. Can be easily repaired if I can get to it soon. It has a code 22 so I gotta check out the TPS, and the fuel pump cutoff relay circuit. That's what the code is related to, so whatever. Anway, just wanted to share my joy!

One quick question, where exactly is the fuel pump relay located on this car? Firewall? Under the dash? Just to save me time from looking, thanks!

I know you have been looking top and bottom for a new Z/IROC, and I am glad to hear that you found a Z w/ t-tops Too bad it doesn't have the standard like you wanted, but it sounds like a hell of a car! What color is it?

Re: WOO, WOO!! Got antother Z28!

Thanks Matt and 96m6lt1!

Matt, its a sort of grey metallic. Not exactly sure of the gm name for it. Slate grey I think? It also has 3 stripes running along the bottom that go from dark grey to light grey. It's actually a very nice color of grey in my opinion, when I get it repainted, I am gonna go with the factory color. Interior is navy blue. I just gotta get this bug outt it and I'll be good to go. Gotta get that tranny mount quick before driving it around much, dont wanna damage the drivetrain.

Thanks 89 IROC-Z. I know what you mean, F-Bodies are the coolest car. No crusher for this one, saved it just in time. Guy wanted it gone by memorial day.

Matt, yes I had to drive it back to my garage at the dealership I work at, but it's not home yet. Just gotta figure out this dang problem. I replaced the TPS today, that didn't fix it. Still running rough with a code 22. I seen some broken wires on the left hand cylinder head at the back where a ground is usually hooked. There are several there. Gotta find out what they are for. Might be where the problem is.

^Did your new TPI engine seem any faster than your lightly modded carbureted 305?

Good luck on fixing the problem though, and be sure to update us
