why so hard to find convert?
Ive decided to start a project... 3rd gen camaro convert with a ls1-lt1/t56....well the first step is finding a good car.
what were the years/productoin numbers these cars were built, that will help my search...
...anything else i should know about?
-thanks

Im pretty sure they started in 1987 with the verts. Check out www.thirdgenresource.com, they did a Ls-1/T-56 swap into a 91 Z vert, ended up looking awesome

Could be that because they did not make that many from 87/92.
Following a breakdown for years, all models of sport coupe, IROC,
RS and Z28.
1987-1007 made
1988-5620
1989-7185
1990-2043
1991-8532
1992-3816
Total 28,203, reduce this number by 10% for attrition and you made have about 25,000 cars worldwide to choose from. So good luck finding one in relative good shape.

your better off taking a coupe and MAKING it convertible j/k...
anyways keep looking and you'll eventually find what you want if you have enough patience, they're out there it'll just take time find 'em. and good luck on that project
