Why not shifting hard enough?
Why not shifting hard enough?
I got: 84 z28 305 HO, 700r4 auto, 85k miles
my problem: after changing the transmission fluid, i have noticed that my car will not squeal tire where it used to. for example when its floored from 1st to 2nd, it will not even chirp although it seems to pull strong, and when it does shift it gives a good jolt, but no bark from the tires(unless i'm in the middle of turn from a stop sign for example). the fluid wasnt real dirty or burnt or anything when it was drained. the car still shifts normally when driven at normal speeds.
now, after doing some searches on the board, the tv cable comes up. i'm not very educated on transmissions, but is this the cable that is bolted on the side of the transmission pan? when i drained my fluid, i didnt bother disconnecting that cable from the mount that was bolted to the pan. i just unbolted the entire mount and moved it aside. when i was done, i just bolted it right back to the spot on the pan with the two bolts where it was originally. does this need adjusted with each fluid change or what?
i understand guys, that this IS a 305 and I dont expect it to burn the tires out or anything. I just want it to give some bark to give it a better sound when i'm pulling ricers from stoplights!
thanks guys.
