where can i go to learn about rear ends?
if you saw my other post then you know the story, my rear end is broken and i need to fix it
my problem is that i know next to nothing about the internal workings of a rear end, where can i find an explaination about what each part does and what is interchangeable with what..... i keep seeing stuff about different ratio carriers and other stuff that i would like to get clear in my head so i can look for parts intelligently
thanks

hi,
I am a member over at colorado k5 (chevy Blazer forum )
I know its a truck foum but we have broken more axles than a group of people should. ( I have three exsploded gm 10 bolts to my credit.....I Think I wheel it too hard )
I know you can find more than you will ever need to know about every type of axle ever put under a chevy. Head on over and search. If not those guys know there stuff. They have helped me through several exsloded axles

I don't know about the specific carriers and interchangeable parts but here's a good explanation of how a rearend works.
