Re: what would you do

It's not an lt1. An lt1 is a gen 2 block. Reverse flow coolant and some other stuff. Look in the thirdgen section.

Re: what would you do

ianinsane is right, the lt1 is a 2nd gen block in the 4th gen car, besides the reverse flow coolin, its tuned port fuel injection system has considerabl shorter runners, but operates very similarily and it has a funny looking distributor over the timing cover

the lt1 motor came out in 92, for corvettes but 93 for camaros and firebirds, i dont know when it was in the fullsize cars, roadmasters and caprices

I dont think that the intake on an LT1 is called "TPI" either. It has some other damned name that wont come to my mind right now. But the runners on the LT1 are considerably longer than the TPI's.

The lt1 style intake is just that; an lt1 style intake. The TPIS miniram looks exactly the same except it's meant for a gen 1 style block with a distributor and waterneck.

and the runners in the lt1/miniram are actually quite a bit shorter making more power at higher rpm's. The tpi falls on it's face around 4.5-5k rpms.

^Ahh yes, I thought it was called an LT1 style intake, but for some reason that didn't sound right. But I thought that the longer the runners the higher the RPM power is made at? Don't LS1's have ENOURMOUS runners compared to the TPI and LT1 engine?
