What type of applications require a different MAF?

Question What type of applications require a different MAF?

Hi guys,


Just as the question says. If i have a CAI and aftermarket exhaust, i dont have headers though, would i benifit from a different MAF, or is the stock one good enough. Thanks

Stock should be just fine. The MAF will have an adjustment window of about 10% if I am not mistaken.

We don't have "different" MAFs. Wells makes one that flows more air than the stock one, but it's still more or less a stock replacement. In either case, the stock MAF is capable of flowing more air than the electronics (both within the MAF and in the computer) are capable of computating.

I have speed density so I am not 100% sure but I know we use a Bosch MAF. Buddy of mine with a 5.0 mustang had a bunch of mods done. In the end, he had to change the sampling tube so it would read right.

That is the only adjustment besides reburning the EPROM that I can think of.
