its not like vasoline is that expensive, just go buy a little can of it for a couple of bucks... I don't think baby oil will work, well it will moisturize the gasket, but it won't seal it for a long period of time, like vasoline will. I usually just rub some armorall on it whevever I wash my car, and it seams to be just fine, at least it works for me.

I apply silicone grease liberally and let it sit overnight and wipe the excess off in the moring. That is what I do for the door gaskets.

Dont put anything silicone based on seals I heard it will deteriate the rubber over time.

I heard armorall dries things out over time. Whats wrong with silicone based stuff? I know petrolium based dries out stuff over time.

I don't know but I got some silicone grease from a GM dealership for the rubber gaskets and it cut down the wind noise some.

Anything can dry out the seals out over time. But Even The Military on their seals use a petrolium base on all their seals.

Heck you got KY Jelly running around the house use that it works.

well if its from a GM dealership, i'm sure it won't deteriate the rubber....but the universal spray silicone they sell at like kmart and stuff are a lot stronger, and can do more harm then good...I haven't had any problem with the armorall drying it out, but i apply it alot, so that might be the reson.

Dont get me wrong I sometimes buy stuff at the dealerships. BUT not everything they sell is always good for your car. Heck Not everything you buy for your car is good for it.

The women I have been with never seemed to need it.

Seriously tho, they do tell you to beweare of certain lubricants when you wear rubbers so I am not sure if KY will hurt the rubber in the seals.
