what the hel did i do, what is normal
so i ****ed with my shift cable on my throttle body on my tpi motor. i saw an article on thirdgen.com that said push the d shapped button in and pull the cable back tight. i did this. then i manually pulled the throttle linkage to WOT like it said. then i drove and i couldnt shift out of first gear. so then theres this little plastic piece i adjusted up front on the throttle linkage . adjusted it till i have smooth shifts at decient rpm . what is normal on this thing like factory specs. my shifts are just kinda dropping into gera now. when i first did it they where slamming into gear. where do i want this adjustment set at. did i **** something up?
if its slamming,it could be u just jacking w/ the cable.
as far as shifts go,it should shift at a decent RPM...prob. between 2,500 or so while driving normal. it shouldnt hold any gear before it shifts. if it holds a gear and then shifts,it will probably be hard. i would just go look at the instructions again,go back and do it again and see if it helps...maybe u read somethin wrong.
hope that helps

fu$$$$$$$$$$$$$$k. so i went outside followed the directions to a tee. didnt work. still held the shift and wouldnt go into second. so now i adjusted it to at normal driving will switch gears smoothly at 2000rpm at mid throttle, about 3500 from first to second 4000 from second to third then it seems like it shifts into fourth drops 500 rpm then holds a bit then drops another 500rpm into 4th something is ****ed upppppppppp. im just gonna bring it to a mechanix before i get so mad i fu$kin sell it.
another question the black skin i guess which goes over the cable is just a cover the cable is silver. the black part when i pulled ti twoards the firewall kinda slid back without the silver cable sliding
