16.2 gallons for the two non TPI engines.
15.5 gallons for the TPI

 

Now you will get 50 stupid replies saying I can only get 11 gals in my tank or whatever number.

It still is 15.5 gals in most 3rd gen cars....

Some 3rd gens have 12 gall, some have 15 gall.

My friend and I both have 89 GTA's. He put 16.1 gallons in his car (low fuel, but running fine). I put 11.9 gallons in mine (jerking all the way to the gas station).

I have two 4th gen LT1's and they've ALWAYS taken more gas than the GTA.

 

So how do you know?

 

Why is that? I get almost 12 into my 86 when it won't run anymore.

 

They tell you to put a brick in your toilet tank to save water, maybe the previous owner thought that would work in the car to save gas!

if u fill up about 11 gallons or so, u have a 12 gallon tank
if u fill up 13-14 gallons or so, you have a 15 gallon tank
