A couple of weeks ago I added 24 Lbs Accel fuel injectors to my L98 engine, and what a difference. What else can I do to add more power to this engine without spending alot of $$$$$

 

seafoam it. it will restore lost power. I'm doing that to mine in a few weeks.
also a complete tune up would help. just my .02

 

List your current mods if you can. We can't just assume 24lb injectors was your first change. What year car?

Harnessing the power you already have can also be fun unless you like spinning your tires as much as possible. Sticky drag radial tires and a better torque converter is always my first reccomendation for automatic f-body guys. Tubular lower control arms will also plant the car to the ground better.

bump the timing
weight reduction
cut out the air boxes
new muffler or better yet a cutout

 

What do you have done? Did you get the tune adjusted for the new rockers? Are you up to date on all of the maintance items?

1.6 Roller rockers and springs.
X2 on Weight reduction

 

its hard to believe just injectors would make a difference..these cars run rich from the factory so adding more fuel wouldnt help much

But unless you had something else previously done that needed fuel, its hard to say. List your mods and we'll go from there

My recommendation is holley stealth ram or other intake swap. junk that TPI its holding you back ALOT

 

I don't know what year car you have, but I have a stock 91 camaro with the L98 and the injectors are 24lbs. Maybe you had a few bad ones and didn't know it. Someone told me in 1990 they swithced from 22lbs to 24lbs for the injectors for the L98.

 

No, all 87-92 350 TPI engines have 22lbs injectors. Even the '93 LT1 has 22lbs injectors. It wasnt until 94+ that GM used 24lbs injectors.

 

I just had new injectors put into my stock 1991 L98 and the paper work says 24lbs, at a nice cost of $1,700 at the dealer. After market one's suck.

 

i dunno bout that, i have some SVO 19lb units that have been serving me well and we recently stabbed a set of F.A.S.T. 24lb units in a friends B4C being his stock 22s were way out of spec and it was faster for us to get a set from my work. the 24s in his car are doing great, running smoother, and not runnng rich.

 

I sure hope you didnt pay for that. If so, you got screwed big time. New injectors are $350 for the set, max. And GM uses Bosch injectors, same as just about every other company, aftermarket included. Go take a look online. GMPP, Ford SVO, Accel, MSD, their injectors all look alike.

And trust me when I say this again. 87-92 TPI 350 engines used 22lbs injectors stock from the factory, and so did 92-93 LT1 engines. 24lbs were used on 94-97 LT1 engines. If you have 24lbs injectors in your engine, they are larger than stock and it WILL run richer, especially at wide open throttle, with the stock computer program.

 

I just looked at the original sales catalog for the 1991 camaro and it states that a tpi 305 came with 19lbs injectors and the tpi 350 came with 24lbs.
