Re: What do you think of this 3rd gen!
thats pretty hot,the only thing i would change is the rear tires they stick out a little to much,it kind of takes away from the lines of the car.
thats just my opinion

Yeah If I had to do it again I would go for the 16X8 rims... To run a 15x8 and keep it in the wells... you might needs special back spacing or mini tubs...
I had to roll my fenders so I would not cut the tire.

I personally am not crazy about the plain jane body style but it looks like it has plenty of go.But for that price you could get a nice iroc or T/A but the performance wouldnt be as good stock.
Re: What do you think of this 3rd gen!
just depends on how you fit it. i run a 295/35/18 dr with full suspension travel and no major problems although i had to have the rear bumpstops removed. the new car has 315's and no problems. it's all in tire/wheel placement.

I think...my car is just as fast without the nitrous.
Seriously though, it a clean car that runs very well. The look it slightly outdated with the stance and large meats hanging out back.
That was the biggest problem with my car, I had V6 springs on all four corners. When I swaped in the 383, even with aluminum heads, the front end was in the weeds. So I ended up swapping in all 4 87 Z28 springs from my parts car, and cutting 1/2 coil of the rear to sit level with the ET streets I have.
Good luck selling it, I know how it feels to sell a car you are really attached to.

Re: What do you think of this 3rd gen!
chrome 17x8 IROC rims with some 245 width tires and some 1" lowering springs would give it a killer street stance.
i'm not big on the "huge meats" look...way too much like the stereotyped "mullet 3rd gen".

WELL seems nobody like the wheels and tires.. That is cool by me I have factory 15X7 wheels that can be put on the car no problem... The back spacing would better fit my C3 vette anyway.
AND I realize that it is a base coupe. But that is what makes it so great... people don't expect it to be radical. And It is true, I would rather not sell it
would rather contine to build it up. But with a wife 3 cars of my own and her car....THAT IS NOT working out...
Overall I think you guys seem to like it... I guess I would be better off swapping rims right off the bat and using the factory 5 stars wheels (in red?) and some 235r60 15 tires.
YA think?
