Post What to do if 58mm throttle body

Hi!
I´m rather new with modifying the vehicle, so I´d like to ask You guys:

Is it recommended to use a 58mm TB or should I go with 52mm? I haven´t ported my plenum yet, but it´s to come.

What other mod´s do You recommend to start with? What I´d like is to get more torque instead of high top speed, I whant to place all those darn BMW´s in my rear mirror.

Unless you have a 383 cid engine or larger a 58 throttle body would be too big. Stay with a 52mm TB.
If your looking for just bolt on mods then some large tube runners would be good too. But I like SLP runners myself.

Then if you a auto, which you dom you may consider a higher stall convertor too.

Even a 52 is too big for a relatively stock TPI 350. You'll realize little or no benefit over using the stock TB.

I had the 58mm TB with the Accel Superram Plenum, runners and base manifold and could definately feel a difference. Headers woke it up even more and having LPE rework the chip was the final magic.

HOWEVER, if you are sticking just the TB on you may end up like my buddy with a TPI vette, he lost a tenth after the mod

OK!
Thx for the answers. So I should stick my stock TB and get an airfoil for this instead? Maybe install som runners instead, as AS&M Semi Siamese? Do they work or should I pick some else? How´s the TPIS? They´re much more expensive.

Thank´s alot.

Regards
Andreas

An airfoil is a waste of money too. Doesn't do a damn thing.
