Post What a difference!!!

My headers are finally installed and they made a huge difference! Theyreally toned up the exhaust and gave great perfomance through out the rpm range. Believe it or not I broke traction in 3rd gear, not to bad for a 305 with the peanut cam. I heard alot of bad things about Edlebrock, and so far none are true. Time to go pony hunting!

Yes there are a handful, ive seen 2 lx's one gt of the 88-93 years, 1-2000 Cobra,1-2001 Bullet, several 2000-v6 stangs and they all rev at me. I do have the uniqueness of being one of 6 f-fbody's in the country and the only GTA. Other than that there are plenty of 300zx's, 3000gt's, and plenty of other lower rice editions. Someone will fall prey to the sleeper...the lowly tpi305.

Exhaust has always been the best place to find power on a 3rd gen. Glad you're happy with yours.

FYI- It's likely your '90 vintage TPI motor doesn't have the peanut cam at all! Through much information from my direct expereince and from other's expereince on the web it's been determined that ALL 91-92 305 TPIs (the speed-density type FI motors) came with the hotter L-98 cam, regardless of transmission or exhaust option- despite what spec sheets and shop manuals say! There is good evidence that the switch to L-98 cams being put in ALL TPI motors began even before that. Your engine is on the bubble, time-wise. Just thought you might like to know. Gotta love a mystery. Sorry, no way to tell which cam it is without looking at the numbers stamped on end cam bearing or actually measuring it's lift.

What are the specs for both cams and thanks for the info. How much of a difference would the afpr make with my current mods?
