What carb?
What carb?
I'm looking for a new carb. Currently I have a Holley 750 Double Pumper.. I'm missing the linkage for the vacuum secondaries, and it also could probably use a rebuild.. I'd much rather upgrade to something better.
The Car:
1984 Camaro Z28 - 3350lbs
Ported AFR 190 heads (around 270 at .550 lift)
Comp Cams 274h Cam (230/236)
1.6 Roller Rockers
Edelbrock Performer Rpm (Upgrading to a Victor Jr soon as I get hood for clearance)
3.42 gears, but have a 12 bolt being fab'd right now with 4.56's.. probably going to change to 4.10's since I've changed my setup since then (did have 240/246)
I really just want something thats gonna make a good street carb. I'd still like to retain my current 15mpg in 6th on the highway. I also want something thats gonna be setup pretty responsive in lower rpms area (2500-6000), because I've currently been shifting at like 6200-6300.
Thanks,
Josh

If your current carb is a 750 vacuum secondary (list 3310) converted to mechanical secondary, I can understand why you are unhappy with it. Doing that to vacuum secondary carbs makes them a mess.
You could redo the carb correctly, and while you are at it, convert the secondary to metering block so you can use jets, and install a quick change spring kit so you can tune the secondary opening point. That's what I did on my 400 and carb runs great.
But my car is an auto w/stock converter. With your manual tranny/bigger cam/good heads, you might consider getting a true 750 double pumper, list 4779. Especially w/4.10's or 4.56's. Tune the primaries a little lean and the seondaries a little rich so your gas mileage is ok, but you make best power at WOT.
