Weird burning smell
Ok I took my car out for a ride today and i noticed a weird odor coming from the vents as i had the heater on. It smelt like as if something was burning I also have plans this week to get a new catalyst converter installed could that be the cause of this? Also the sliding switch for the cold and hot is hard to put on heat is my heater broken ? Thanks in advance.

Re: Weird burning smell
I have a burning smell and I just discovered the valve cover leaking on the driver's side. Oil is dripping onto the exhaust manifold.
I had the same problem with the heater you have. Mine eventually broke. Now I have to use pliers under the dash to open the valve to heat the car. I don't run mine in the winter much so it is not a big deal. I tried finding a quick solution for the heater thing but the only reply I got was to pull the heater out and replace it with another. The piece that broke is where the cable connects from the controls on the dash near the valve. It was made from some cheap pot metal and just snapped one day when it was hard to move. Maybe you can lubricate the cable to make it slide easier. That will save you from breaking it off like I did.
