Vibration after tranny mount install!

Hey guys, well, I installed my energy polyurethane tranny mount today, and all is well. But I notice that for example on the freeway, under hard acceleration and at high rpm, like 5k, there is a noticeable vibration that I feel through the shifter..... Its nothing too bad, but it wasn't there before..... Just curious if anyone has experienced this before. Maybe I screwed up, the installed seemed pretty straight forward.
this is only at high rpm, around town or even under hard acceleration, its good up until 5k it starts to vibrate a bit.....
Thanks

Will

The vibration is most likely because the polyurethane is a lot harder than rubber so it doesnt absorb the vibration like the soft rubber did.

Also, did you install the metal preload plate? Some people have had problems like yours after installing a poly trans mount and after removing the plate the vibrations went away. I installed the plate on mine and didn't feel any noticable vibes so I left it in place. After a few hundred miles, the mount seems to have "broken in" because it runs smoother now.

Poly mounts will conduct more vibration just because they're harder and firmer than rubber. You get used to it.

Cool, I just wanted to make sure that it was nothing serious.. Yes I did install the preload plate per the instructions.... With the round end facing the rear... I thought this was normal, just wanted to double check! Thanks guys!

Yeah, I'd say it's normal. My 94 (M6 car) had a bit more vibration coming throught he shfiter and the floorpan after the Energy Suspension trans mount was installed (the crossmember just bolts to the floorpan, basically) . Nothing bad, but a slight vibration at certain RPMs/throttle positions that wasn't there with the stock piece. I got used to it very quickly and don't even notice it any more.

Ok guys,, I'm back. Well, the vibration is starting to worry me. When I give it throttle, and the motor winds up to arond 4500 rpm, i hear this vibration sound, like something is going around and around. I also noticed when doing the install that the new poly mount was alot taller than the stock rubber mount. This makes me think that the tranny is now sitting higher than it use to, and the drive shaft is not aligned well anymore??? Make sense? Thats all I can make of this and I sure don't wanna be blowing U-joints when it might be something I can fix. I installed the mount with that plate they supply........ Any input will help! Thanks guys

Try it with out the preload plate, I had to pull that back off on my car and it fixed the vibration.

Yep, completely normal. Back when my car was "more stock" I got one as well for the 700r4 and it vibrated pretty bad for the first 3000 or so miles, then it went away... or did I get used to it?
