Believe it or not but go over gmhightechperformance.com and go in the featured car section and check out tony hess's formula. He mentions he did it and pickup .2 in the 1/4.I tried myself with my 92z when I had it and damn I picked up .13 and just over 1 mph.Not bad thats the same as 10hp.For zero green.

well considering your alt is solely responsible for charging your battery its just common sense that it would. It all depends on how good your battery is but i doubt youd have any charging problems making a few runs at the track. Also im pretty sure only one fan runs under normal operating conditions the second one only comes on if your car really heats up.

Well if your worried just plug it back in after each run and let car run to charge the battery.Anyway if you go to e-town on a nice night the wait is about 45min between each run so you have time charge, cool down go to the bathroom eat a hotdog, bull**** with other racers.etc

I know this is a no no but I did it for 2yrs with the car and never had problems.I would pull out my air filters.I know everbody thinks I am crazy and stupid for doing that, but with an iced intake 10 timing,48psi fuel press, unpluged alt, catback, headers, slp converter, drag radials, how many l98 3rd gen's were going mid 13's over 100mph. Bets was 13.37 101.2

Why not wire a relay to cut power to the alternator?
Right before you run, flip the switch and cut the alternator, after the run, turn it back on.
