Hey all just when i thought my day was going well i picked up my IROC today when i got home i shifted in reverse she went in reverse. Then as I shifted to PARK she wouldnt stay in Park!!!!!! So I talked to a friend who said its a cable under by the tranny pan see if its hanging. I took a look and i saw a wire hanging. Just wanted to ask u guys if i can just jack up the car and connect it myself ???? THANKS IN ADVANCE.

 

sounds like you need a whole new shift cable. Should cost about $30 from a local store...$35 from the dealership usually. And yes you can replace it yourself, just make sure when the shifter is in park the trans is in park and locked when you tighten everything back up.
