tranny slipping

my 88 5.0l tranny is slipping,i have no overdrive and 2nd winds out to red line before a shift,is there somekind of an adjustment i can make on the tranny for a temp fix?

If you've already lost 4th gear, its toast. You need a rebuild.

First, change the fluid and filter and add some Lucas tranny fix. Might get you through till you can rebuild (SOON!).

Anyone with any ideas on the second gear deal? Mine likes to unless I let off....
