Or, you could keep the cam you already have, and go the LT1 intake conversion route. TPI intakes are good to about 4,500RPM, whereas an LT1 intake can go as high as 8,000 with proper porting.

Check out these links: http://popularhotrodding.com/tech/0803phr_beast/

You can get used LT1 intakes dirt cheap off Ebay.

52mm (over-bored stock throttle body 104mm total - using 3.8L V6 mono-throttle blades,) I bored the TB with the air foil installed, and deleted the coolant system instead of bypassing it (don't need it in Texas)
180 Thermostat
I use both the plenum MAT, and the IAT with an air snorkel from a V6. I working on my own custom cold air system.
I ported the plenum to match the TB, but the runners are still stock (working on that.)
Chip in ECM removed (leaving the limp home section) and EPROM slot cabled to an EPROM emulator.
I used TunerCat RT to reprogram for the larger injectors, and the lower T-stat.
I'm not going to do any tuning until it's had a several hundred mile under it's belt. It idle well, and passed emmisions (just barely) which was the one thing I was worried about.
