TPI Kickdown cable???
Hey guys, well I am new at this EFI game. Bt from what I can gather, there are 3 cables, two of which throttle related and the other one some sort of kickdown??? Well, what I have been noticing around town is that my car will act as if its in cruise control..... Almost like a stuck choke on a 4bbl car. If I am jst cruising down the road and let off the gas, it continues to move steadily. If I jst tap the gas, it seems to engage this kickdown and the rpms drop to a nice low number. Whats up??? I hate pulling up to a light to have my car lunge every gear as it approaches stopping . Is the cable adjustable? Its as if there is too much slack in it or something>?
Anyone experience a similar prob? Any help would be appreciated.

that sounds more like you have a sticky throttle cable or sticky cruise control cable.
The other cable, which is more or less a kickdown cable, is called the "TV" cable. It does a lot more than your old kickdown cable did. This controls upshifts as well as downshifts. If it's not set correctly, all of your shifting will suffer, and you can burn up the transmission in no time. The proper procedure for adjusting it is pretty simple. With the car not running, push the big metal tab on the side and pull the black cable sheathing back all the way. Get in, and slowly push the accelerator pedal to the floor. It'll get hard near the bottom, then all of a sudden, 'SNAP!' It'll go to the floor and the TV cable will be set.
The adjustment of the TV cable won't effect your idle though. I still think you either have a problem with the other cables, or your throttle body needs to be adjusted.
