TPI to Carb
TPI to Carb
well, ive almost decided on switching my TPI to Carb instead of keeping it fuel injected. and of course, comes all the questions. im prob. looking to run some Vortec heads, either Performer RPM or Air Gap intake (which im sure neither will fit under stock hood). then change the cam to a Comp Cams cam. im not sure on the specs yet,but any suggestions are always welcome...
now what should i do w/ the computer, wiring harness and stuff like that? can i just take off the harness for the motor and leave the computer just to lock-up the TC or what? and what about the throttle and TV cable? what bracket do i need to get,and will my stock cable work,or will i have to get new ones.
and any other things that ill need to do,or any suggestions please FEEL FREE to let them out. u can email me at RobZombie35@aol.com
thanks in advance for any help that is givin

Everything you might want should be on that page from Scoggin Dickey Parts Center. Modified Vortec heads to accomodate .570" lift instead of the stock .450"-.485" lift!
Choose the intake Air Gap or typical RPM version. Bolts, rocker arms, gaskets, etc comes with it. Grab a cam that suits your power/driving needs and a typical 750 carb and you'll be screaming well into the 12's with traction and a decent torque converter
Cables, I bought both the Lokar Throttle and 700R4 Kick down cable. B&M Sells a bracket that goes on the carb to make the kickdown cable work properly so grab that also. As far as TC Lockup, look for the thread posted earlier about non comp lockup, or whatever it was called. You can buy a Painless wiring kit to control the lockup or install a rocker switch in the factory wiring so you can control lockup manually. Leave the harness there just in case! Snip a few wires here and there if you're worried about looks. Injector harness/wires comes to mind that I'll be snipping off now that I'm thinking about it.
Cam I'd reccomend with those heads and an Air Gap intake/750 carb? Competiton Cams. Call them and tell them your intended setup and they'll reccomend a few options. I'd go with something aggressive for sure. Since it's a roller cam engine, I'd do the Comp Xtreme Energy 236/242 grind. It would work best with a 3000rpm stall torque converter. Goodluck man!

lol J,i might be selling in order to fund the top half of my engine. we had an 86 Silverado longbed that some1 had put a L98 vette TPI into w/ 700-R4 and shift kit. the truck was pretty fast and would have no problem beating a civic w/ intake and exhaust, and the worst part of all is,it was 4x4

But I just dont want it hangin around rotting, you can have it really cheap. Let me know if you want it.
