Torque converter
asked this question a while back and I think I stunned some people I didn't get much help.
I don't think my torque converter locks up in OD. with stock 2.73 gears my motor runs at 3k rpms. any ideas about what is going on and what I can do about it.

Well in trying to calulate RPM's & MPH and a 700R4 with 3rd gear of 1.0 and OD of .70 I keep coming up with the numbers for a 3:42
rear and NOT a 2:73. I would check your RPO codes for rear axle I.D. It is not a 2:73.

im pretty sure that it is a 2.73 though.
i came up with that number from sinning the tire 1 time and counting how many times the driveshaft turns.
i counted it and it came up around 2 3/4 turns.
thats just what i came up with let me know if im wrong.

when driving down the road when you think the converter should be locked, try tapping the brake with your left foot. you will feel the converter unlock the relock once your foot is off the break. It's usually the solinoid that stops working or the front seal on the input shaft is leaking, (leaks internally)
