Chrome I have Silver ATI Razze 5 17x8.5 wheels with 245/45/17 tires. But I guess thats to conservative for you. You want the biggest and widest tires you can get and the Chrome wheels.

Anyway to answer your question:

Obviously you have 15x7 wheels - assuming they are stock. Only the 90-92 RS's got the 16" option.

The stock size on your car is 215/65r15. That was the base size for all cars from 82-92. However, GM did put 235/60r15 on the 85 models. That is what I had on mine. They fit well and don't rub at all. GM wouldn't install them if they didn't. 255/60r15 will fit on the rear only. They don't handle that well, but they still look good, are completely safe, and give a slightly wider rear tire look.

Here is an OLD pic of my car redneck'd out when I bought it:

And just because I dislike that pic so much, here is what it looks like now:

New pic

Thanks for the info Marc... oh, and for the guy who wanted to know what i have/would like for my car (like it changes his opinion on the tires he has) I have 255/60/R15's all around. I would like new tires and am asking for some input on what some of you on here have... but yeah, i like the looks of what i have on there right now but they rub up front when the wheels are turned sharp. (previous owner put them on) I'd like 17's put on but i can't afford new rims yet so i'm going to stick with the 15's for now. What advantages/disadvantages would i have if i put a smaller size tire on the front only?

I can't think of any disadvantages. Like I stated, I wouldn't recommend 255/60r15 for the front due to the rubbing concerns you are having. I ran 235/60r15 in front and 255/60r15 in back for a few years with no problems or complaints. The smaller tire will improve handling and looks, will lower the front end back to stock ride height, and will eliminate the rubbing you're experiencing. Not to mention they are cheaper and more common.

17's aren't really that expensive these days. I got my 17" wheels with good tires for $500 in our classifieds. Add on another $300 for spacers and that's $800 for 17" wheels with tires. Sell your old wheels and tires to recoup some of the cost. You could have 17" for $500... Just a thought!
