Theres a ticking comin from the bottum of the car towards the front/ middle. Is tht my Tranny goin out? let me know. I think i need a new engine and tranny, my car hasnt been acting good.

Ticking? Like metallic ticking? too general...could be light pinging or something like that....

it might be just an exhaust leak at the headers. I'd find someone (any mechanic should know) who can recognize the tick, it's pretty distinctive, but it just sounds like a tick if you don't know what to listen for

if thats the case, a new gasket should fix the problem. (go with alluminum)

as for the 350 engine, it all depends on what's in side the engine crate engines are about $3000 I think, but they are brand new as upposed to yanking one out of a junker.

and the tranny, I think you get get a nice performance rebuild for about $800-$1000 not sure what a new tranny would be, or how much you'd spend for one out of a junker (and rebuild).

 

DID I MENTION MY CAR HAS BEEN TURNING OFF ALSO. I DONT KNOW WHY OR IF IT HAS TO DO WITH THE SAME THING BUT MY CAR HAS BEEN TURNING OFF. LIKE IF IM AT A RED LIGHT FOR TOO LONG THE RPMS DROP LOW AND I HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND HIT THE GAS SO IT WONT TURN OFF, YOU KNOW WHAT THIS PROBLEM SOUNDS LIKE? MY CAR HAS BEEN PISSING ME OFF AS OF LATE.

 

Have a mechanic listen to it. It could be bad lifters. Your dying off sounds like a bad idle adjustment.
