I have an 87 Z28, i was out on the highway, and i gave it some gas to get around a car. well when i came out of it, my gas petal was stuck about half way down! the petal wasnt engaging the throttle so that was good but I only have about half my petal now. it just seems..stuck half way down but not engaging the throttle. what in the world could be wrong?

 

Check your throttle linkage. That's all I can think of. Your problem is weird? Never heard of that before. Maybe just try using some WD-40 on it. Good luck!

Could be a broken or kinked cable.

 

Sounds like it could be a kinked or broken cable. If it isn't that check your linkage and throtle body see if maybe it is stuck in open position. also check your return springs to see that you might not have broken one or had it to slip off. Other than that.....

 

ok well heres the thing. my petal is half way down, throttle is closed. the petal will still engage the throttle like normal but its like i only have half my petal. i guess i should just check it out :/

 

So are you saying you've got the 1st half or 2nd half?

 

second half....from half way down to the floor.
