Are they temp security to that prevent starter to go ?

From time to time my engine does not start. The starter does not even rev. The Starter seems to be ok. At least a pro tell me my starter is fine…
I analyzed the problem and here are the symptoms.
Always on hot days, not after a very short drive, or after a very short drive with a already heated engine.
Usually with water temp a bit above 220F. Like 225F 230F on running motor. The temp rising a little bit on and after ignition cut.
Then the car wont start. I usually have to wait until the temp cool down below 150F. It seems to be linked to the temp as I can predict if it will start or not reading the gauge.
Can there be any kind of electronic temp security programmed? Can it be overridden as I think that I never went into too high temperature? Should I monitor temp with other gauges (like one more for water and one for oil?). Do I have one gauge dead?
Thanks for the Help.

Shoebox answered me :

If you are saying your starter will not run when hot (your wording is quite confusing) and are asking if there is some security that keeps the starter from working when hot, then no there is no such security. Sounds like you have a bad starter or if you have header that are causing heat soak, then it might need some thermal protection.

And I answered :
Typically my starter wont work when water temp is hot (230-240
), and will work back when water temp is very low (150)...

Sorry for the messy post...

Have you tried putting a heat shield on your starter?

This is a common problem on 2nd gen Camaro's that run long-tube headers. The starters soak up the heat from the exhaust and then won't operate properly. There are a number of ways to fix this on the 2nd gens - including heat sheilds, mini-starters, and remote starter solenoids (like the 1st gen Mustangs ran).

Good luck.
