Question TBI 305, 10:1 CR, Vortec Roller Cam.....will it work?

This is what I had planned for my spare motor that might have to be used to replace the stock 305 (260,000 miles) in my '91 Caprice TBI. The motor isn't showing ANY signs of dying, but I want to be ready if it does. The stock 305 in it has 9.8:1 CR factory. Its a roller motor 305, but the cam is peanut sized too. I need to pass SMOG and I need to keep the CPU from freaking out. Will I have a problem with that using the Vortec roller cam (listed below)? I also planned on doing alittle bowl work on the heads. Any guesses to power output, or a guess on how much more than the Caprice's stock 305? Any help is thanked in advance. Thanks Guys.

-'87 305 Block and Heads
-Stock Bore 9.5-10:1 CR Cast pistons, cast rings
-GM Vortec Cam, .410/.424", 202/207 (w/1.5:1 rocker) dur@0.050", 115 LSA

Might use 1.6:1 Roller Rockers to get .437/.452" lift

I read on thirdgen.org that the LT1 cam is good for 100hp in the caprice engine, but that may be the 350 L05. Anyhow, a lot of folks are running the LT1 cam without problems in their L03's. It has more lift so you won't need higher ratio rockers (.449, .459), and works with the stock computer. You can usually find them for 25-50 bucks too.

The reason I was going to use the Vortec cam is because I have several of them on my shelf. I also already have the 1.6:1 Comp Magnum rockers. However, I would buy a an LT-1 cam if I could find one for under $50.
