T56 swap kit

Is this a good price and would it work, (except the crossmember), for a 91 Z28 5spd.

http://store.yahoo.com/speedautomoti...o19t56chk.html

Would the only other thing I need be a signal converter for the speedO, and croosmember? Is going out to the junkyards a better chance of getting a good deal. What bad thing should for in a T56 from a Junk Yard.
Sorry for these qestions I know they've been ask a million times.

Thats the going rate right now.
If your looking for a smokin' deal, it would be around $1200. Other than that $1500 is the usual asking price.

I picked mine up off a budy of mine complete with a hurst shifter and a spare master cylender for $2000 CDN (~$1400 US)

Yes the only thing you'll need to buy is a crossmember. Your car being a 91 should already have an elctronic speedo. I beleive it wil hook up the same. You just need to get the chip reprogramed to correct the speed. You'll also need to buy a clutch.

if you already have a 5 speed then why bother getting the kit that has all the pedals and stuff.....shouldn't everything bolt right up to the existing equipment?

I swapped a T-56 into mine so here it is from personal experience:

That kit is exactly what you need. Get a crossmember from www.spohn.net and a speedo calibrator from Dakota Digital and you're set. You can leave your pedals in because the clutch master cylinder is exactly the same, but the hydros will have to be changed because the T-56 slave mounts from the back. And thats a very reasonable price, I spent 2 grand on mine with a new carbon clutch and Ripper shifter.
