Question T-5 Tranny dilema......

Just got my motor started and ready to take her for a hot lap, when I go to put it in gear and I am DENIED! Prior to the firing of my motor the tranny would go through the gears fine- no complications. I fired the motor, let it run for a while- never drove it, and now I cannot get it in any gear, everyonce in a while I get lucky. Even with the car turned off I cannot run through the gears, which leads me to believe that it is a problem with in the tranny. Sound correct? The T-5 has been sitting for nearly 3 years, so Im wondering if the internals are gummed up/ possibly froze? Could running the motor shock it enough to do that? The tranny was topped off with fluid....has me baffled? Any info is great, just hopping to get a few ideas before I start digging in! Thanks in advance!

Re: T-5 Tranny dilema......

Is the clutch pedal stiff at all?

Possibly a bind somewhere on the input shaft to the flywheel/crank/pilot bearing area.

Re: T-5 Tranny dilema......

not stiff- just put in a new slave cylinder, but that did not help either- bind? What do you mean? Please clarify for this tranny novice-

You got air in the slave cylinder, trust me. Go bleed it.

Re: T-5 Tranny dilema......

The most likely problem is the clutch is not disingaging. Like Pneumatic_Tire said make sure it's bled and check to see that fork, etc. is actually moving.
