Re: supercharged tpi

build a badass 383 for some killer low end torque. it should perform great on the autoX track since all the power will be at a nice low rpm...very useable.

to run decent power with a SC you'll have to (or want to) put some stronger internals in the motor anyway...so why not just build a good torquey 383 and forget the extra $5K for the SC.

Re: supercharged tpi

You won't need 450 hp to run mid 12's in a thirdgen. More like 350.

RWHP right? I doubt that it is feasable with crank hp.

Depends, some guys make like 315rwhp/360rwtq and run mid 12s with the right tire and gears, and maybe even some weight reduction. That would be about 355hp/415tq.

450 hp with MAF and you'll start to run into some drivability issuses in your tune,

might want to consider map, or even better for boost a computer from a turbo sonoma, can't remember the model off hand

I know back in the day, magazines were bolting on Paxtons and getting good results.........not sure of the actual HP numbers, but some impressive gains to be sure.
