Having used the SR, I can testify that it does a good job. Currently I can pull till 6000 where the tranny shifts.

I am a fan of the accel superram(you mean the big pizza box right)mix that with the vortec maniflod and head swap and a hot cam say hello to the 12's.Well you can go bigger on the cam if you don't mind the down falls(emissions)

Why the vortec heads tho? You'd be restricted with the manifold you choose to run. BTW, although they say you can use stock manifold with the SR intake, I wouldn't recommend it. Reason was that when I put one of the runner gaskets (stock) against my SR manifold, I could see that the tunnel was much more restricted than the SR intake. Why not go all the way with SR manifold base and say AFR aluminum heads.

I think the Holly is a little new. Wait for some more feedback before you buy it.

SR vs HSR - EGR/emissions compliance

SR is EGR compliant and is compatible with EGR items. Unless its changed, HSR does not include EGR provisions.

Believe it or not, here in my part of Texas, they do actually look for and verify funtion of the emissions equipment during the annual emissions tests. Just my .02, but knowing two folks that have been pulled over by troopers and had their vehicles impounded for "having tampered with Federal emissions equipment" in the last two years, you need to determine if Emissions legality is an issue for your area.

the SR still deals with stock type design runners. just made somewhat larger and half length and uses the same stock design base just with larger diameter runners again. the HSR is a tunnelram. about half the total runner length.

go here for flow and runner length comparison. most answers are here. i'm working on getting all the answers.

well if emissions is ever a concern, go with the SR. if it's not, then the HSR is the way to go. overall cost will be about the same or more for a SR. but the HSR will do better.
