Re: super ram

where's a good place to get the parts needed to complete the super ram. trying to buy it used but a new one seems to be possible for only a few more dollars.

so far i've found the plenum, lid and runners with bolts for 779.99
gasket kit for 30.99
and manifold base for 459.95

i'm changing over from my miniram so i'm trying to figure out what all i need.

any help or suggestions on pieces and prices would be helpful.

Re: super ram

If you already have a mini-ram I dont see how the gains you may see could be worth the cost of buying a whole diffrent aftermarket system.

As far as where to buy it, the intake is made by lingenfelter isnt it? I would talk to them.

do you feel better now?

it's made by accel, lingenfelter has their own in which they put their name on it and charge more money. however their base manifold is 100 cheaper then other areas.

just looking for helpful suggestions, thanks.

Heres one. Dont be a dick.

I wasnt trying to be high and mighty challenging your reasoning. I was just curious as to what your reasoning was. You could have either given me your reasoning, or ignored me, but dont mock me.

And your right accel makes it I remember that now, but myt advice is the same, if you cant find everything for the swap, call accel they will tell you what else is necessary, and give you the names of dealers that sell the parts.

Practice. Those plenum to runner bolts are I'll keep an eye out for a used setup.

Darth,
Jeff's creation is one of constant change and the pizza box is probably better suited to his combo. Even Mr. Lingenfelter chose this setup for Auto trans cars and it worked very well.

I could tell him to do an EFI plumbed Super Vic Vortec AGAIN but he wasn't looking for that kind of info obviously.

So really. I'm being a dick. Mr. Burns, yer all clear of this title 10-4.

2 methods to simplify things:

1. Drill out the threads in the box and tap the plenum so you can put larger screws from the top. That or helicore the runners so you can reuse the stock bolts. Helicoring the little bit of metal on the runners is obviously a little bit harder than using slightly larger bolts but those are your options.

2. Slot the bolts so you can use a small screwdriver and turn them till you need to really use the 1/4 in 12 point wench.

The first method requires you to locktite the bolts so they don't come loose. The second is recommended by LPE.

Your choice.

Re: super ram

I did the second method and it was no problem. I just kept all the bolts loose until they were all started. I also used a 12pt ratchet wrench.
