Alright guys...stupid question but hey, I'm startin from scratch here. What is pop-starting and how do you do it? You are all probably going to say you don't recommend it I know, but I hear it all the time. Thanks for helpin out.

 

Hmmm....is that when your car stalls, and on a manual car you put the car in neutral or something then into first and try to restart the engine w/o a starter.....heh....i have no idea

 

I can't even believe that people don't know what this is.

If you have a car with a manual trans and your starter goes, you can push it to get it going, drop it into 2nd and pop the clutch. As long as you're going a couple mph or faster the car will start.

 

Oooh I remember one day I had to do that. I did it differently than how you said though

Put it in 3rd gear, but push the clutch in. Have a couple buddies push the car, then when I'm going about 7-10 mph, let the clutch out fast and throw it back in. It worked for me the one time I had to do it
