Re: Strong odor of fuel

any gas on the ground? Well TPI has or should have a electronic fuel pump, so tun the key two clicks and listen for the ERRRRRRR then when it stops turm key back twice to OFF then repeat 2 or 3 times and look for gas leaks, i assume the hose clamps are tight.. does the car run good? or does it act up?

I usually let it fill till it is done and shut it off. Even if you fill it to the top, it shouldn't do that. BTW, you have a charcoal canister and all that? How is it doing? Perhaps that is loaded with gas? Perhaps your tank is leaking too?

Yes, check your fuel rails for leaks. Mine leaked on drivers side # 7 injector, left huge puddles of gasoline on the ground... it would seal up as soon as the motor got warm. This is caused by a rotted rubber O-ring.

Re: Strong odor of fuel

Some third gens fell under a recall for a crack i the filler neck of the fuel tanks...call your local GM dealer and see if this is an issue, they should be able to look it up under your vin #.

Later,

Erik

This is a place online where you can look up recalls don't know the adress though. Good luck getting them to make good on the recall though. If they won't do it set your car on fire blame it on that and sue GM
