World Products makes some awesome heads , the S/R Torquer 305's. They are no as pricey as some others, but like a few guys already said, its not gonna be cheap. I found out the hard way, and when my 86 was totalled (may she rest in pieces) I snapped up a tpi 350 car, and never looked back. I got my stock motor LG4 running low 16's with tuning and a good catback/dualsnorkel aircleaner combo. But it really isn't that bad doing a swap to a 350, and you will be much happier in the end. I too used to be an advocate of "keep your 305." But the bottom line is, most of us just don't have the cash... Best of luck bro, keep us posted

weird..my LG4 can take a 92 LB9 Z28. 92 RS with a LO3 was even worse...but i guess thats falling on its face.

I got my 86 LG4 to run 14.94 @ 91.67mph.
Only mods I had were intake and carb and a muffler. Everything else was stock.
Here is my best slip with the LG4,
I did a TPI swap with cam and full exhaust and netted this time with non-functioning computer,
